Hair loss and hair thinning can be treated by stimulating dormant hair follicles to become active again. This natural restorative treatment uses the bodies own plasma to initiate regeneration. The procedure is simple, safe and very beneficial, achieving natural results.  Additionally, PRP can be used post hair transplant surgery and is recommended as a monthly treatment to achieve the best from your transplant.

What is it?

Platelet rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is known as plasma or stem cell therapy.  It was made famous by the ‘vampire or ‘Dracula’ facelift. The treatment utilises your body’s own ability to regenerate, heal and rejuvenate the treated area. The procedure is simple, safe and very beneficial, and can achieve astonishing, natural results.

How does it work?

A small amount of blood is taken from the patient and spun in a centrifuge until the platelet rich plasma is separated from the red blood cells. This plasma is full of growth factors and healing properties, and is injected back into the skin to stimulate healing. PRP is primarily used for full face rejuvenation or to stimulate hair growth. It aids the production of collagen and elastin which improves the overall quality and texture of your skin.

How long will it take?

45-60 mins including using a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area

Does it hurt?

Anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin prior to the treatment.

How long does it last?

For the best results, this treatment would be performed monthly for 3 months. In the case of hair restoration, I recommend monthly treatments for 6 months then a twice yearly treatment follow-up for maintenance.

What areas can be treated?

Hair loss, facial rejuvenation, hands, neck, scars

What is the downtime?

You may have some residual swelling and possible bruising for 1-2 days, as the platelets activate the inflammatory cascade that results in improved collagen and elastin
